This new traffic control device, by Roadside Safety Supply, is availalbe in red, blue, or amber, in sets of 6. Each kit comes with a black storage box that doubles as a recharger, with LEDs on the outside to show when the DuroFlashes inside are fully recharged. The box is 9.5" x 5.5" x 5.5", excluding handle.

The DuroFlash unit itself is 4" x 4" x 3/4", and are cast aluminum alloy for extra strength and have been tested up to 20,000 lbs. The DuroFlash was made with longevity in mind. It has no switches or moving parts to break off or become damaged. It is water- and weather-proof. The battery will last for 4 hours between charges. A Lithium Battery is being used similar to the one in a cell phone so the battery will fully recharge whether you use the DuroFlash for 10 minutes or 3 hours. The on/off switch has been incorporated into the recharger design to make it fool-proof. The only way to turn it off is to put it back in the recharger. If someone picks one up from the road, they would not be able to turn it off and odds are you officer would be able to see it blinking in their car. The biggest advantage of the DuroFlash is the affordability it brings. Forget about the open flames and hazmat issues of the standard-issue ignitable flare. With DuroFlash you can secure a site for a much longer time, and you do not have to worry about the flare rolling or blowing into the underbrush on the roadside.
