It is associated with ER5554 class of wire. It is ideally designed for welding 5454 base metal that requires above 150 deg F sustained/elevated temperature to provide superior color match after anodizing with 5xxx/6xxx base materials. 33 ksi moderate strength wire has higher hot cracking sensitivity in some applications. It finds applications in matched filler alloy for 5454 applications, elevated temperature applications with +150 deg F, automotive wheels and heat exchangers.
