Where chemical hazards or immersion in liquids is a concern, chemical/liquid resistant gloves are available in various compounds in supported styles. Base fabrics for supported gloves include jersey, which is soft and helps to absorb perspiration, or a thinner interlock fabric that helps give the gloves added strength for resistance to cuts, snags, abrasions, and punctures. Unsupported gloves provide enhanced dexterity and are either lined or unlined. Unsupported lined gloves have a thin coating (commonly referred to as a flock lining) embedded on the interior of the gloves to help absorb perspiration, add comfort and aid in donning and doffing. Chemical handling gloves are resistant to specified chemicals and have varying degrees of resistance to cut, snags, abrasions, and punctures.
